Oil Pastel brushes

Last night I found some time and created this piece. Since starting this blog I have found other Artist's blogs and been inspired to try some still life. I used oil pastels...and had limited white and tried to get get around that. This painting took me about two hours.

Imagination

While I was waiting on a render of fire at work today....I did some sketches.
Most of my sketches are from my imagination, especially my landscapes.
I really like this one.

Abstract attempt

Over the weekend I was about to tackle my first abstract painting. The canvas of choice is quite large and it seems the larger the canvas the longer it takes me to get started. Something I need to change.

oh another in progress??

Why yes. I actually took one of the sketches from my last blog and began to create it in oil pastels. I love how vibrant pastels are. Still some work to do.

Jesus' Empty Tomb

I did this sketch a few months ago and liked it. I hope to create more pieces
like this one that reflects my faith and tells the stories that has changed the world.
I believe the Bible is the word of God and Truth. God inspires me to create
artwork. He created us in his image, which makes sense. We love to create all
kinds of things with our hands, and the tools we have. Our need to imagine, and/or
create is a reflection of Him and his creativity. Although there never was nor never will be a more brilliantly beautiful piece of artwork than what God has created around us.
