Oil

Over the memorial day weekend I set aside a few hours to paint :)

My reference was a photo I had taken in Berne, IN with my wife a few weeks ago.

I spent 1 1/2 hours on this painting...challenging myself to use paint in a limited time with limited details.

My goal is to learn how to "leave it be".  I used a limited palette and only 2 brush sizes.

I had a blast with it and learned much :)

"Afternoon at the Creamery"  Work in progress update.

Oil 30" x 15"

Another update....this painting has been a challenge...and I finally feel like I am heading in the right direction.

More updates to come!

"Gabe's First Day on the Creek"

8" x 10"

This is a new piece I am working on that is near and dear to my heart.

I am referencing a photo from my son's first day to the creek that I fish often!

A memory that will last forever.

Another sketch

Here is a another sketch I did for fun while working. You can tell I almost destroyed the poor paper. :)

Farm Sketch

"Farm sketch" 5" x 7"

I haven't posted artwork in a while and felt I should post this little sketch. Had some fun using a ballpoint pen little and painterly. Would like to use this approach on a fully rendered drawing. This was from my imagination, next time I will use a photo. Just having fun!
