"De animals a comin"
These are a part of a series I am creating for a family in my church. They are base on a song about Noah's Ark...called "De Animals a Comin". Fun song! I am creating these with watercolor pencils. Next step once approved is to paint over them with water then add ink. I will post updates.

Inspiration
I have been pretty busy the past couple months and a little disappointed that I have not painted at all. Today I ran into Monique Straub's Artwork and it inspired me! She paints using soft pastels on sand paper. Her colors are brave and beautiful. The shapes and movements in her pieces truly bring the artwork to life. Check out her work! Hopefully I will actually get to see one of her pieces in person.

Need to take a drive
Been a while since my last post, especially a post with a painting. With the season beginning to change, the corn fields golden, soybean fields red, and that cool breeze I am determined to take a nice drive out through the country this week for inspiration. Fall is upon us :)

Sunset study with watercolor pencils
I decided to pull out my watercolor pencils again...been a while. The image you see hasn't been touched over with water and brush yet. I figured it might be nice to see the before and after. Next I will re-post the drawing after going over it with brush and water. Just a little study to see how the colors will react with each other...wondering if it might get muddy....we will see!
